Kiva
I have recently joined and started actively participating on the website Kiva.org. This Post is mostly to inform people out there that it exists. And that there are those out there who still hope to change the world and make an effort for the better. The basic concept is to loan $25 or $50 dollars to someone in a developing country looking to get their business off the ground. Once they can they return the money and you can either choose to take it back or pass it on yet again.
“Most people of modest means can’t save as much of their income as Oseola McCarty but are willing to give a little money every year to a good cause. Unless they contribute to a local fund-raiser, they’re often unsure that their $25 or $50 will make a difference. That question has been resolved in an innovative way by Kiva” -Bill Clinton

Wii MotionPlus
Normally I’d put this in the Video Games section but it’s not really about a game per say. I have just recently purchased the new Wii Motion Plus Sensor and so far it has lived up to my original expectations of the Wii Remote. I guess that’s something to celebrate. I purchased Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and so far I must admit the sensor is very accurate let’s hope it holds up to the sword fighting end of things once I get Wii Sports Resort. I’ll keep you guys updated once I purchase it.
“Most people won’t see the difference until they hit the power button.” -Reggie Fils-Aime (Nintendo CEO)

Sterling Renaissance Festival
Yay for being a dork. I’m off to the Ren Festival in Sterling, NY this weekend. It’s always a fantastic time and it allows me to escape reality to a simpler more fun time. I’ll be there dressed as a pirate of course and I can’t believe I am talking about this but I am just excited.

Get Out of My Nook
That’s what she said. The Office is awkward and hilarious not to mention addicting. From Michael’s terrible social skills to Pam and Jim’s ongoing relationship the show manages to entertain nonstop.
“Listen man, I’m so sorry. I had no idea. I just feel terrible about it. I have been calling people faggie since junior high, and I have never made this mistake. If I don’t know how to behave, it’s because I’m just so far the opposite way. It’s just, I can’t even imagine… the thing. Maybe we could go out for a beer sometime, and you can tell me how you do that to another dude.” -Michael Scott
